Touring your favorite venues such as national parks, zoos and historic cities will get easier, more accessible and more enjoyable with the new Ranger Series of multimedia tour guide systems by BarZ Adventures. The GPS Ranger™ and Zoo Ranger™ are handheld video tour guide systems that venues and tourist destinations can use to offer interpretive tours to communicate the stories, history, background and culture that make those destinations so historic, memorable or unique. The Zoo Ranger is used by zoos for interpretive tours, while the GPS Ranger is used by all other types of tourist destinations such as amusement parks and historic cities.

For tourists traveling in mixed groups with deaf or hard of hearing and hearing visitors together, all can enjoy a tour on the GPS Ranger or Zoo Ranger. ASL tours are accompanied by audio for non-signing, hearing companions and many audio tours are accompanied by captioning – so everyone can enjoy the same tour at the same time!

The computer devices use GPS (Global Positioning System) technology to know where the visitor is in the venue and deliver information about what they are seeing and experiencing. The full-color video touch screen can be used to deliver tours in American Sign Language (ASL) and Captioning, as well as audio and audio description tours (for the blind or visually impaired) in English or any foreign language.

Venues and tourist destinations can develop GPS or Zoo Ranger multimedia tours for all their visitors and offer them for rent on a daily basis. Tours range from three hours to a full day; rates for tour rental are dependent upon the tour and venue.
